We try to have a “formal” event at the Garden every other Saturday morning, but we are often there also the Saturdays in-between. We will be there Saturday, June 1 starting around 10 am to do various garden tasks, harvest some veggies and just hanging out. If you want to know if we are going to be there at any time just email anyone before and we’ll let you know.
There will a repeat of the weed/plant identification class by Sarah Schopp as well general construction work (putting up a shade triangle, laying down irrigation tubing, general garden maintenance).
A more formal class will be next weekend, per our normal every-other-week schedule. Tentative topic/s: Compost, Mulch, Fertility, Cover Crops, Plant Maintenance and Watering + (intro to Disease & Pests and Beneficials)
Sarah will provide information on harmful vs harmless weeds as well as wildflowers
We are wrapping up construction of the garden in the next few days and will have our “”Grand Opening” on Saturday, March 30 at 10 am till about noon.
All neighbors invited – this is a “Community” garden after all.
This coming Saturday we will have several volunteer students come in to help with the fence painting and with the raised beds. So no need for other volunteers (but thanks for the thought!).
We will be making a late start (about 11 am) and do only have a couple hours of work planned. But I you want to come over and help or discuss membership then you are welcome stop on by.
Hello neighbors, as you may have noticed, we were having our work days quite regularly on Saturdays as we are continuing to build our garden ahead of the official opening, scheduled for early March.
This Saturday we will be working at the garden from 9 am probably until 1 pm or so. If you want to come and help out or just stop by and say hello, we will be happy to see you.
We plan on installing the welded wire fencing and staple it to the posts we had previously installed. We will be also painting and installing the wooden 2×4 top and bottom rails or (horizontal members, if you prefer).
Based on available hands, we can start on some other projects as well.
